How Jobless People Live in My City

In the above interview  I hope to  focus  on several points that I believe will help me understand the topic more.

First of all this interview will target   the working -age people in order to find out how they are coping with the lack of jobs in their City.

Next, I propose to use a structured interview so that I can get an accurate response to my questions. I will use audio record interviews.

The data collected will be analysed for 're - current answers and I will use the responses to try and answer the question of how the un- employed in my City feel about their plight.

Concerning ethical considerations, I will be Introducing the subject to each participants  and asking them  for their approval before I start recording their responses.

Regarding their consent I will before - hand seek their assent  to having  their views mentioned or not.

Out of interest, what do you mean by 'accurate'? And what is it about structured interviews that means you are more likely to get 'accurate' responses, for instance compared to semi-structured interviews or other approaches?

At the same time, without knowing the intricacies of your research, I imagine that participants might have interesting vignettes or stories to tell that could really enliven your reporting. I wonder whether a structured approach might exclude this in favour of consistency, whereas a narrative and more open approach might encourage participants to open up a bit more?

This isn't to say that structured interviews don't have a place: I'm simply trying to suggest alternative approaches so that you reaffirm that you are taking the approach that is most likely to provide you with the insights to address the questions are looking to answer.

Best of luck with your research.
